LADIES & GENTLEMAN….BOYS & GIRLS 2007 proved an exciting, busy year for Love Valley Arena. Charlie and Beth Nance are the Managers of Love Valley Arena. Charlie, a former bull rider, bareback & saddle bronc rider, pick up man and renowned Rodeo Funnyman has spent his life in and around the world of rodeo. Growing up in the Valley and his love for the sport of rodeo has Charlie committed to providing the best in rodeo through Love Valley Arena. The 2008 season is going to be action packed and full of fun and exciting events at the Arena. Please make plans to come out and enjoy the fun! We have 2 Junior Rodeo Associations that will be performing rodeos this year. The Junior SRA Rodeo Association and the Blue Ridge Junior Rodeo Association will be here. If you have never had the opportunity to see children from the ages of 5-17 perform in rodeo events such as barrel racing, mutt bustin, pole bending, team roping and bull riding, just to name a few; you do not know what you are missing. The horsemanship, agility, and grit these kids show will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. You will cheer for the “Cowgirl-Cowboy Try” in these youngsters. The Mule Association of Love Valley will have the “2nd Annual Game & Fun Mule & Horse Show” in April. There are a variety of classes to enter with classes being open to ALL to have a good time and compete in some old fashion fun. Theses classes will be open to young and old alike and ages in between. Come join the fun as a participant or spectator. We are proud to say that in May and August, the NC High School Rodeo Association will be back in the Valley. The youth of today and our adults of tomorrow will show the best in rodeo and horsemanship. Please come out and support our future. In April & June, we are proud to welcome the National Pole Bending Association to our Arena. There will be pole bending and barrel racing with FREE admission. In October, the same association will be having a “Fun Show to Benefit St Jude’s”. There will be Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, Halter, Western Pleasure classes and more. In August, IPRA/SRA Professional Rodeo will be back in the Valley for the “3rd Annual Kick Up Your Heels for Hospice” rodeo. Last year was great fun for close to 2000 people who came and enjoyed Professional Rodeo. Cowgirls and Cowboys from as far away as Oklahoma as well as North Carolina cowboys competed for points and prize monies in all the rodeo events. The enthusiastic crowd was entertained through eight events from the beautiful opening pageant to the final event of bull riding. Beth & Charlie are proud to say that in the last two years; almost $10,000 dollars has been raised for the Gordon Hospice House of Iredell County. This rodeo will have some Special guests, so make plans to attend. This year we are even more committed to making this rodeo bigger and better and raising money for such a worthy cause as Hospice of Iredell County. Charlie and his wife, Beth are excited and committed to providing quality family entertainment for the whole family in all equine events in the Arena. Love Valley Arena provides parking and seating for handicapped visitors and are happy to help with any requests or special circumstances that we can. We will also help any group(s) with their plans to make their visit to the Arena as special as possible. The Arena is happy to have a Love Valley Arena Concession stand at all the events. The Concession stand is provided through Love Valley Presbyterian Church. The Concession stand is provided with a lot of hard work and dedication by Richard White and Dale Johnson. They cook up the best hamburgers and hot dogs around and their “Sweet Tea” is famous throughout several counties. When at the arena, make sure you drop by the Love Valley Arena Concession Stand, say Hello to Rick and Dale and, eat some great food, drink some pure Southern tea that comes with smiles from good people. There are sites available for campers and groups on non-event weekends at the Arena. There is No Alcohol allowed on the Arena grounds. For event dates & times, please see the event list at the Love Valley Arena page.
